    TA Instruments is known for its innovation and quality in its analytical instrumentation and is looking for a Development Engineer to support its world-class reputation. This is an opportunity for an innovative creative scientific engineering mind to take their electrical/electronic background and apply it in an engineering development environment creating new systems to make better measurements. This is an exciting and wide-ranging position where you will perform a variety of engineering and design tasks in the development of the leading edge of thermal analysis instrumentation.

    Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited to

    • Supports development needs for new products and modified designs from concept through production
    • Works through problems to provide solutions to a wide range of technical problems involving the design, development, and testing of company produced scientific instrumentation
    • Develops and guides feasibility studies and testing of new and modified designs
    • Evaluates a variety of data, conducts tests and evaluates results
    • Possesses sound engineering and laboratory practices that comply with ISO procedures

    The successful candidate will have a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience that would include the following

    Education Qualifications:

    • Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field of study

    Experience Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 3 years of relative experience in electrical engineering of instrumentation or closely related industry
    • Should be highly knowledgable by the ability to demonstrate one's application of engineering fundamentals, theories, concepts, and procedures used for the development of scientific instrumentation

    Required Skills:

    • Ability to collaborate with others as an effective team member
    • CAD skills; Altium, simulation experience desirable.
    • Electrical design experience.
      • Digital and low level analog experience
      • Design for electromagnetic compatibility
      • Temperature, displacement sensor experience
      • Power Electronics - Bridge/Buck Converters.
    • Background knowledge in controls and control systems. 
    • Background knowledge in materials science
    • Knowledge of materials characterization, preferably thermal analysis techniques and applications
