  • Overview

    At TA Instruments we are looking for a Product Marketing Specialist who maintains awareness of developing market trends, customer needs, and competitive products & activities. Interprets that information and determines potential impact on current products and future product development activities.

    Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited to

    • Works with engineering, manufacturing, and sales to define new products or enhancements to the existing product line. Participates during development cycle for products to ensure that key product features, introduction & shipment timing, and cost targets are achieved.
    • Works with Marketing Manager/Marketing team to define product positioning and to develop specific marketing plans and activities for individual products or product lines(s). Also provides support (primarily technical content) for marketing activities including product literature, sales promotions, price lists, company website, exhibits, etc.
    • Monitors ongoing product quality in conjunction with Quality Manager for the Business. Participates in Quality Action Teams to resolve important quality problems or opportunities for improvement.
    • Works with manufacturing to identify specific product issues like obsolescence or opportunities for margin improvement and to bring those issues to the Product Committee for review.
    • Assists the Applications personnel in answering sales, service and customer questions. Serves as secondary source of technical expertise.
    • Travel required to customer sites, conferences and product launch seminars.

    The successful candidate will have a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience that would include the following

    • Knowledge normally acquired through completion of an advanced degree (Ph.D) in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics or other technical/scientific related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Specific product and industry knowledge with at least 5 years of experience in Thermal Analysis is required.
