Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited to

  • Provides solutions to a wide range of technical problems involving the design, development, and testing of company produced scientific instrumentation; determines design approaches and parameters
  • Analyzes a variety of data, conducts test and evaluates results; conducts feasibility studies and testing on new modified designs
  • Supports development needs for new products and modified designs from concept through production
  • Complies with good engineering and laboratory practices and ISO procedures

The successful candidate will have a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience that would include the following

  • Four year degree, and preferably a minimum of five years’ experience in mechanical engineering of instrumentation or closely related field
  • Should have comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated application of engineering principles, theories, concepts, and procedures used for the development of scientific instrumentation
  • 3D CAD skills, simulation experience with ANSYS or FEA modeling (stress, flow, thermal…) desirable.
  • Familiar with tolerance analysis. GD&T experience desirable
  • Knowledge of materials characterization, preferably rheological techniques and applications
  • Ability to work with others as an effective team member
